The plan for todays blog was to post some sensible shots of our Anniversary Escapade in Gloucestershire. But, the best thing about plans is that they can be completely, totally and utterly ignored.

We got back home mid afternoon, (after a very late start…For some reason both of us struggled with the whole consciousness thing this morning)…..When we did finally make it back, the first job on the agenda, after caffeine medication, was to collect the cats from their regular holiday home at Auntie Rita and Uncle Steve’s cattery, ‘Small Paws’ on Dudleys Himley road…

We ended up with three cats in boxes, (which we were expecting), and an extra box full of the rather spectacularly splendid surprise pictured above..

Cat owners with a sweet tooth take note !!!

As for yesterdays celebrations, I include a hastily assembled shot of the soiree.

As you can see, romance and an atmosphere of quiet sophistication was very much the order of the day.

Should you find yourself in Gloucester, ‘Sebz’ Portuguese-y, tapas-y style restaurant seems perfectly happy to serve inebriated, giggly, loved-up, gurning celebrants, with the finest of fine foods….Thanks ‘Sebz’..

Gotta go..There’s a cake with my name on it!

The middle photo was early on..deliriously happy in a measured, mature, Humphrey Gocart/Ingrid Bergman kinda way…The others were later, once our kidneys had started to float…much more emphasis on the delirious….
      Have you ever read this?

      “Be Drunk”…Charles Baudelaire.

You have to be always drunk. That’s all there is to itβ€”it’s the only way. So as not to feel the horrible burden of time that breaks your back and bends you to the earth, you have to be continually drunk.

But on what? Wine, poetry or virtue, as you wish. But be drunk.

And if sometimes, on the steps of a palace or the green grass of a ditch, in the mournful solitude of your room, you wake again, drunkenness already diminishing or gone, ask the wind, the wave, the star, the bird, the clock, everything that is flying, everything that is groaning, everything that is rolling, everything that is singing, everything that is speaking. . .ask what time it is and wind, wave, star, bird, clock will answer you: “It is time to be drunk! So as not to be the martyred slaves of time, be drunk, be continually drunk! On wine, on poetry or on virtue as you wish.”

All Gods be good, I intend to stay, deliriously happy, pissed up to the eye-balls on LOVE!

I know she looks at the pictures…Not sure if she always reads them though..The poor girl probably thinks she listens to enough of my chuntering without having to read it as well…..
