Cordoba was the second major city we visited during this road-trip.

We started in Granada two weeks ago, and I’d always thought that Cordoba would be running a slow second…not quite so atmospheric or impressive, but, between you and me, it knocks Granada into a cocked hat…..

OK, so Granada has the Alhambra..also the very lovely Albaicin area and Sacromonte, but take these three highpoints out of the equation and Granada doesn’t really do it for me. Cordoba on the other hand delivers in spades.

The Mezquita, the Alcazar, literally hundreds of beautiful churches, picturesque squares, orange tree lined cobbled streets, the Guadalquivir river, roman bridges…….You get the picture.

The top shot shows the Mezquita from south of the river..The second is the approach to the Alcazar and the third just one of the many side entrances to the Mezquita….The interior of the Mezquita is probably THE most beautiful room I’ve ever seen…but you’ll have to wait for that.

It’s as lovely as you said it was. Stunning. Looking forward to the interior shots. Enjoy the rest of your stay and have a safe flight home. Madre y Padre / Suegro y Suegra

please forgive me for not replying sooner but I’ve been un-webbed, de-netted, cyber-crippled…..
Thats extremely kind of you. 🙂
Hopefully I will be blogging some more stuff over the next few weeks but access is going to remain a major issue for me….I hope you’re able to take a look.
