MAKE ME HAPPY! HAVE A LOOK AT THE PICS IN A NICE NEW WINDOW..THEY’RE BIGGER AND SO MUCH SNAPPIER!
So, as I promised this morning when I chucked in a WordPress challenge photo, I’m posting a few more shots…
I thought I’d capitalise on this slightly unusual blogging day by foisting some more, (very), atypical shots on you, so here you go.
Very little colour and rather more emphasis on incident light than is usually my wont…
It was so bright I couldn’t see a lot, so I under-exposed this by 4 full stops to bring out some detail.
And again with this one.
While this one I exposed for the sky at the end of the avenue. All were pretty much in a straight line shooting towards the sun. It was midday, the worst time of day for the reflected light shots that seem to be what I shoot nine times out of ten, so for me, this was a way of continuing shooting when I usually stop for a few hours, and a bit of an experiment.
Hand on heart, they’re not really my cup of tea, but I think it’s good to have a bash at something new every now and again.

Agree with the sentiments, stray from the path, try something new. Sometimes you may surprise yourself. MM 🍀

No good being a one trick pony………

I like trying new things too. It’s good, I think, to have a recognisable style but if one never experiments then one’s work becomes merely formulaic. And anyway, experimentation is such fun!

Yep…Experimentation is great fun, doing something completely new, or even new variations/developments of themes you’ve explored before can be really exciting..But…(and sadly this says something quite telling about me), failure is a pain in the arse……I struggle with ‘better to have tried and failed, that never to have tried at all’….
I do try things..I force myself to..
But…If ever you’re wandering around and see a dude screaming at the sky with a very purple face, broken bits of black and chrome plastic and glass around his feet and the torn remains of a Nikon strap flapping loose around his wizened old neck, you’ll know Mr Shpics has had another hissy fit.
I blame an artistic temperament as opposed to simple childishness, but sometimes..”ITS NOT FAIR! IT’S NOT FAIR! IT’S NOT FAIR!!! I’M NOT PLAYING ANYMORE! WAAAAGH!”
Phew..Calm down Mr Shpics..Have a lollipop and wipe your eyes!

Mad dogs and Englishmen…and photographers not content to rest a few hours… I like ’em, nonetheless.

It was temperance…If I’d have stopped I’d have had yet another boozy lunch..
