IF YOU CLICK THESE NASTY, TINY WEENY, LITTLE PICS, THEY WILL OPEN IN A SHINY BRIGHT & MUCH MUCH BIGGER & WETTER NEW WINDOW…YOU MIGHT EVEN NEED A BROLLY!

I fancied a bit of a change from what I’ve been doing over my most recent posts, so for the second time in as many weeks, thought I’d devote a bit of brain-space to the WordPress Photo Challenge….

‘Layers’ is about as open ended a theme as you could possibly ask for, so I decided to treat it literally and just see where my head took me.

It took me here.

I shot the water images at the river gorge in Castril during my last visit to Andalusia, and up until now had no suitable project on which to use them..Both were simply recordings of the waters surface, with virtually no contextual detail, so as standalone shots were pretty worthless.

However last might I had one of my recurring dreams…not the one with Milla Jovovich, the chocolate sauce and the double ended spoon, sorry to disappoint….but the one where I’m happily underwater… like a flying dream, but wetter.

So I though I’d follow that idea.

I shot both of the portraits while sat at the computer…..mini tripod/remote release/Sigma 10/20mm…

Both shots are a simple 2 layer composite, with the liquify filter used on the water layer to give a slight hint of form to the way the water runs ‘over’ the underlying image.

Thanks for popping in and commenting.. 🙂
Photoshop is a bit of a nightmare when you first use it..but it does suddenly ‘click’ if you try a few different things…I first used it about two years ago and now I wouldn’t be without it…

Nifty ‘shopping! I definitely fly in my dreams, but I’m not a good swimmer, so no water dreams. However, tomorrow I’m going to be trained at the Aquarium end of the museum where I work. I may be a fish by the next day…
