I KNOW I GO ON A BIT, BUT THESE REALLY DO LIKE A HELL OF A SIGHT BETTER IN THEIR OWN SUPER CRISPY NEW WINDOW…GIVE’EM A CLICK, MAKE AN OLD FOOL HAPPY!

Yesterday was the first time I’ve looked at these images since coming back to the UK…

Shot in Almeria just over a month ago, after stumbling across this somewhat tatty heap of Renault engineered quirky gorgeousness in a back street directly underneath the Alcazaba, I’d since completely forgotten them.

Bit of a shame as they’ve got a nice crunchy thing going on.

What do you reckon? Black and White or colour?

I’m leaning towards colour, but I reckon that’s got a lot to do with the fact that I’ve started shooting Black and White film since shooting these and monochrome digital isn’t really ringing my bell at the moment…I’ve tried to punch in a bit of texture and grit but it isn’t the same as the actual grain of film.

BUT..I’m hoping I’m going through a bit of a biased period that will wear off a little…When you first start doing something that excites you, I reckon you can lose a little perspective.

These shots aren’t ever going to be the best ones to use in a colour/B&W standoff anyway…I mean for Crissake..HOW GREEN IS THAT GREEN???

It would make Kermit look anaemic !

Definitely the color one. The monochrome of the background makes the green even more alarming. It looks like it’s leaping out of my monitor. This thing has a higher nightmare-ometer reading than your pirate.

£5 should buy us a couple of balaclavas and a house brick…..We just need to pick one parked on a hill.
(A contact informs me that hot-wiring doesn’t work with French cars…..For that matter ignition keys rarely do either).

Too true. Regular keys have the same problem. Don’t lock the doors, don’t start the ignition.

We had better park this (like a Renault) now. The NSA and the CIA might be reading…
