For the last two years on my birthday I’ve posted a photographic self portrait.

And… even though I’m absolutely up to my neck in university cobblers, this year I’m doing the same.

Yikes, Stuart…but first let me wish you Happy Birthday… It’s the eyes in that image. I just don’t do creepy eyes, or eyes in any way abnormal….the blind lady In Nic Rooeg’s Don’t Look Now gave me the abdabs, and that was way before the denouement……

I would have been ΓΌber freaked, not slept a wink for over a week, and probably become a gibbering wreck….thanks for sparing me that

Unfortunately, I think the greying of hair is just a matter of the age. Maybe you should not blame the poor university. My own, instead of turning grey, are simply dropping out πŸ™‚

You’re probably right…It’s greyer today than yesterday and I haven’t even been to Uni….Oh dear!
You may well be the best off of the two of us Nannus …No hair can look both fashionable and youthful…White hair simply looks ancient!!

‘hope those “goggles” are equipped to find their way to “the next whisky bar”! πŸ™‚

Oh show me the way to the next whisky bar,
No don’t ask why, Oh don’t ask why……
For if we can’t find the next whisky bar,
I tell you we must die…..
        I tell you,
        I tell you,
I tell you we must die……

        I do like a nice obscure reference… πŸ™‚

I have found those obscure references to work amazingly well. I heard the doors for the first time at a party in 1970 in Ethiopia. A long “ways” away. Yet through blogging I have found that many, many people share the same memories all over the globe, from India to Africa, to Europe. And a simple phrase like that can be recognized anywhere. Thank you for completing the reference and let’s hear it for Morrison and Manzarek! πŸ™‚

I’ve not heard the Doors version for eons..(all of my Doors records are on cassette, how old am I?) haha…. But I played the Bowie version only a few nights before your post….My first experience of the song was in Berlin, a few years before the wall came down, when it was sung by an MC in a Kudamm cabaret club, half in German half in English English…..Magical!
